Volleyball Registration for Tryouts

Hi Girls Volleyball Teams and Families,

PLEASE SEE THE CALENDAR for dates, times, locations, and more info:

Tryouts for Frosh, JV, and Varsity: Mon, Tues, Wed, Aug 6, 7, 8: Amador Valley HS Gym

Registration for Fall Sports is open online on the Amador Valley High School Website: https://amador.pleasantonusd.net Go to Activities and Athletics >Welcome for instructions and link. Pay Registration fees online through Team Pages Volleyball Sport page! The AVHS Office will be open for you to submit your signed registration receipt to the AVHS Activities Desk Aug 2-Aug 3 from 8AM – 4PM. Forms must be submitted in order for girls to try out!

Sign Up to get Pre-Season Info: New students interested in playing on the team in Fall 2018 (rising Freshmen or anyone not on a team last year) need to sign up on Team Pages for the Pre-Season Interest Team using the “Join Team” option in order to receive communications. We have automatically moved all 2017 players and parents to the 2018 list. We will be sending out information through Team Pages regarding pre-season meetings, summer camps, open gyms, fundraisers, etc. MAKE SURE TO SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT WITH A PASSWORD TO GET ALL INFO!

Get a Physical: Students will need to get a physical in order to try out for the team in August. Athletes need a new physical each year. Forms are included in registration process and must be uploaded to the registration website. One option: Muir Orthopaedic Specialists are offering a low cost sports physical on July 28 in Walnut Creek. If you’re interested, learn more and register at MuirOrtho.com/Pass-to-Play.

Get a Baseline Concussion Test: Students will need to get a Baseline Concussion Test in order to try out for the team in August. Athletes need a new test every 2 years. See calendar for scheduled testing dates.

Submit Parent Volunteer and Driver Clearances: Parents, please submit your volunteer forms and driver clearances by the end of May, so that you are cleared to drive when the season kicks off in August. Please indicate “Girls Volleyball” on your forms in order to expedite processing.

We are looking for volunteers who can take a leadership role in our upcoming Young Athletes Program in Danville this summer. If you are a minimum of 16 years old and have had some experience with the intellectually disabled, you can be a part of a team of leaders in the program! This is a chance to spend some time with 2-5 year olds and their families who are new to Special Olympics. Lead volunteers need to be available for training on June 29 (1.5 hrs.) and the program on July 7, 14, 21 and 28 (2.5 hrs each day). Final Amateurism Certification Reminder for Students
Students enrolling full time at an NCAA Division I or II college or university in Fall 2018 may request their final amateurism certification starting April 1. This is a requirement to compete their freshman year.

To request final amateurism, students should log in to their Certification Account at eligibilitycenter.org and:
Review their added sports and answers to Sports Questions.
Check their graduation and enrollment dates and update if necessary.
Review any open tasks and complete necessary information.

Remember, the enrollment date in your profile account should reflect the date you first plan to enroll in an NCAA Division I or II school.

Spring Sports Registration Open

If your student is interested in participating in a Spring Sport at Amador, on-line registration is now open. All Spring Sports begin Feb. 5th, 2018. Please follow the NEW procedure outlined below:

Step 1: Parents must now register their student online through Athletic Clearances Registration (www.AthleticClearance.com) before a student can try out for a sport. All athletes must provide a current athletic physical form, which is good for one year from the date of the exam. Be sure to print and bring the physical form to your Doctor appointment and once completed please upload the physical form to the athletic clearance site where requested. (Remember—each physical form needs to be signed and stamped by your physician to be deemed valid.) If your student plays multiple sports, physical forms can be transferred from one sport to another (within same school year), but you must register your student, using Athletic Clearances, for every season. The three other traditional registration forms are now included in the on-line process and will be completed electronically so are no longer physically required by Activities.

After completing the on-line registration process, you will receive a confirmation email that your information has been submitted to us. *You must still print this email and include both a parent and student signature. * Bring this signed form along with a copy of the sports physical to Activities for Final Clearance beginning January 22, 2018.

**Checks for Athletic Registration fees for these sports may be turned in with the registration paperwork to the Activities Desk. Step 2: Complete a baseline concussion screening for your athlete if it is required by your sport. This screening is a computer based test and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The test is administered on-site at Amador by our Athletic Trainer. A Baseline Concussion test is good for two years once taken and is a requirement for incoming Freshman athletes.

Step 3: Please ensure that all book bills are cleared for your athlete prior to submitting any paperwork to Activities. Debts must be resolved prior to clearance for tryouts in your sport.

Step 4: In order to participate in sports at Amador a student must be in good academic standing. Grades will be checked for each student at the time of their email and physical form submission to the Activities Desk.

Sports Clearance must be received before a student will be allowed to try out for a Sport. Please ensure that you follow each step to secure your Clearance in a timely matter.
