Come join the fun!  

We will be playing Corn Hole, Spike Ball, Jam Can, other lawn games as well as an Ultimate Frisbee game.  

There will be lots of pizza (supplied by the team), salads, desserts and drinks (supplied by everyone potluck style).  

This is a great opportunity for the boys, girls and all of our awesome parents to mingle and get to know each other.

The boys will be receiving a dark team shirt or tank top (depending on what they chose at the Welcome BBQ apparel table) as part of their water polo package.

Before you can begin practice on Monday, make sure that you turn in your completed Athletic Packet, the email that your son received after taking the baseline concussion test (if he had to take it) and your $225 sport registration fee (I believe they will now accept a check or a credit card for your payment) to the Activities Desk in the Amador Main Office.

You will receive a YELLOW SLIP that must be turned in to Kyle before your son will be allowed to get into the pool for Monday’s practice.

It’s almost here! Next week the water polo fun begins! :)
Here are a few very important things to know to start us off on the right foot…
Athletic Packets and Sports Registration Fee:
Please get your completed Athletic Packets turned in to the office Activities Desk. The cost to play for the season is $225 which covers Coach’s stipends and other team expenses. If you are unable to cover the cost, Booster’s has a scholarship program available. Please inquire at the Activities Desk. Like all sports at Amador, we are a self-funded program, and without this contribution the program cannot continue to run.
Volunteer and Driver Clearance Forms:
If you haven’t already done so, turn in your Volunteer and Driver Clearance forms. Our team fees are so much less than others because we do not use buses to get the boys to games. Our parents drive the boys to and from away games. Lucky us, we only have four away games scheduled this season. Pre-Season Evaluation & Conditioning “Hell Week”:
Starts on Monday, August 7th and goes through Friday, August 11th…everyday day from 11am to 3:30pm. The boys are expected to arrive 15 minutes early to warm up and be ready to go at 11am. (see previous Hell Week announcement for further details)
Baseline Concussion Testing:
The Boys’ Water Polo team will be doing their baseline concussion tests on the first day of Hell Week, Monday, August 7th at 2pm. Kyle will release the boys during practice to go to the Amador Library to complete their test.
Welcome BBQ/Potluck is Friday, August 11th at 6pm:
Your family is invited to participate in the AVHS Boys Water Polo Potluck being hosted by one of our great water polo families, the Barkers. This is the perfect culmination of the boy’s hard work during hell week, as well as your chance to order team clothing and get acquainted with our water polo families and coaches. Team Suits, Gear and Extras:
We have been taking shirt sizes for the team polos and t-shirts over the last couple of weeks to allow us to pre-order so that all of the boys can start the season off with their team gear in hand.
At the team welcome BBQ/Potluck on Aug 11, we will be doing our final sizing for anyone who has not yet responded. This will include the polos, t-shirts, swimsuits as well as optional sweat suits, sweatshirts and parkas. PLEASE BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK! We will be collecting $150 for the “Team Gear package” (this covers the team polo, t-shirt, gear bag, coach’s gifts and team events) as well as the team swimsuit which is purchased separately for $50.
