Welcome back to AV Men's Soccer 2021

Posted by Soccer - Boys at Mar 22, 2021 2:39PM PDT

Hello Amador Valley Men’s Soccer family. We finally have the good news to share that we have all been waiting to hear. There will be a soccer season for 2021 for all three teams, Freshman, JV and Varsity!!

Although this will be an abbreviated season, with some special stipulations and protocols due to the pandemic, we have the green light to play ball! The CIF has also cleared the way to allow players to play high school sports and club sports at the same time.

Recognizing that guidance tends to change quickly, here is what we know today. We will continue to communicate with you and update you as things change, especially practice dates and times as we struggle to get field space.

The Season:
The current plan is that the season will be about 6 games, against opponents in our Valley Division of the EBAL. (Foothill, Dublin, Livermore, & Granada) We have added a scrimmage with Castro Valley and a match with Cal Hi.
The tentative start for the season is April 23.
Games for all three teams will be only Wednesday – Freshman, JV, then Varsity. So most likely games at 3:30, 5:00 & 7:00 PM
There will not be playoffs for the division, not sure yet if there will be a declared “champion”.

Tryouts:
We will have limited time for the normal extended tryouts.
The plan right now is to have one full day tryout (Thurs Apr 22, and then one follow up day to invite players back and make final decisions (Fri Apr 23).
Dates and details are below.

Transportation
There will not be school provided transportation/buses. Parents will be responsible for getting their sons to and from the games.
Players may not drive themselves
Carpooling will be helpful for parents that get a district clearance to drive others.

Practices
As most players are going to be on club soccer teams at the same time, we are going to have to limit practices once the season starts – Monday practices
- Wednesday games

Google Form: IMPORTANT

Dear Amador High School parents and students,

Is it time for your son or daughter to get their driving permit? If so, the first step is the DRIVERS EDUCATION ONLINE PROGRAM.

It’s a huge milestone, and the first step in learning to drive safely!

Amador Boosters has partnered with the YOUR DRIVERS ED ONLINE program to ensure your teens success in step one of this exciting process. So, not only will they be more independent, but they will also learn to be safe.

This program is a state requirement, and the first step to getting your license.

Please check out this new Driver’s Ed Online program we’ve partnered with. Please make sure you DO NOT check the “Assets Program” but DO make sure you choose AMADOR HIGH school and fill in ALAMEDA COUNTY. This way, Amador Boosters will get the credit, thus helping our Amador athletic program. Register on-line now at https://www.yourdriversedonline.com/register.

During these challenging times, this will greatly help our athletic program, and the entire student body!
