News and Announcements

The Amador Dons knew that they would have their hands full when taking on San Ramon Valley on March 17th. SRV has many of its starters having already committed to D1 Lacrosse teams across the country and they demonstrated those skills both offensively and defensively.

The Dons defense lead by Senior long pole Jacob Lum worked hard to prevent SRV from scoring, and Junior goalie Tommy Hodges fought in goal, but the offensive line from San Ramon proved why they are number 1 in the league.

The Dons offense had difficulty as well. There were a few bright spots in the night with some skill and great moves by the Dons attackmen and midfielders.

In the first quarter, Junior attack Connor Dubiel had a great assist from behind the goal to Senior attack Alex Pappis who was able to dodge his way through the SRV defensive line and score. Second quarter Alex Pappis made a great pass to Freshman attack Cal Ewanich who made an impressive underhand shot to score. In the fourth quarter, great clear from Tommy Hodges to Junior midfielder Luke Ingram who quickly got the ball upfront to Junior midfielder Sean O’Brien who scored. Cal Ewanich made an impressive pass to Connor Dubiel who was upfront and scored. Senior midfielder Adam Ashley scored as well. And the last goal of the night came from a great ground ball pickup from Junior midfielder Staton Rosenblum who made an outside shot rip to score.

The final score for the night 15-6 was the Don’s first major loss of the season.

If you have never been to a Boosters meeting before, this is one you don’t want to miss. On the agenda will be a discussion about moving forward with a new field for the stadium.

Your ‘Athletic Registration’ does not cover all the costs necessary to run the program. Any short fall in Athletic Registration must be covered by the Teams fundraising amount and directly cuts into their ability to build their program. Let’s get this number above 90%.

All money collected for Athletic Registration will be paid directly to AVHS to cover Coaches and Transportation.

The Amador Varsity boys are off to an amazing season under the leadership of new Head Coach Mike Kruger. After an epic 13-12 win against De LaSalle, a buzzer beater win against Oakridge 13-12 the Dons are on a roll. The team took on Livermore at home last Friday night, and won 16-2 taking their record to 5-0.

It was a game where the entire team took to the field and some new faces got the opportunity to lead the team to a decisive win.

First time goals were made by Juniors Patrick Sydow (2), Peyton Wisch (1), and Chaye Cliff (1 goal, 1 assist). Senior Alex Pappis lead the team’s offense with 4 goals, 1 assist, followed by Juniors Luke Ingram (2 goals, 3 assists), Connor Dubiel (2 goals, 1 assist), and Freshman Cal Ewanich (1 goal, 3 assists). Junior Staton Rosenblum, Senior Adam Ashley, and Sophomore Lucas Heverly each had 1 goal. Additional assists were made by Senior Alex Becker, Juniors Jack Altman, and Jackson Perry.

The defensive team did their job and kept Livermore out of scoring range. Jack Altman, Riley Altman, and Stephen Wessel lead the defense with ground ball pick-ups. The goalies, Junior Tommy Hodges and Senior Bryson Fialho split the game, each allowing 1 goal.

The Dons won this one with ease, but next week hit the road with 2 tough opponents in Granite Bay and San Ramon Valley.
