AV Girls Volleyball - Varsity

GOOD EVENING DON VOLLEYBALL FAMILIES!

Please read through the important announcements about this week:
1. Tomorrow’s practice location has been changed to CORE Volleyball facilities in Dublin 4-5:45 pm due to the gym being used for a Career and College Fair tomorrow evening. We are sorry for the late notice, but Prima was just made aware of the space conflict this afternoon. Team Captains sent out a text to the team earlier this evening, but I wanted to make sure families also know about the change in location.

2. The first round of NCS Playoffs is scheduled for Tuesday, 10/23 at 7pm and we are hosting! Please join us and support the Amador Dons as they face off against Irvington High School! It is sure to be an exciting match! We need lots of support in the stands so please plan to come and bring friends! We will have our wonderful Make a Wish snack bar and pizza will be sold too!

Amazing job at yesterday’s tournament and a huge thanks to all of our food and beverage volunteers for providing the team and families with a terrific feast.

10/15 Practice 3:30-5:30 Amador Main Gym
10/16 SENIOR NIGHT!
6 pm HOME GAME—AVHS vs. Granada High School AVHS Main Gym
Please join us for a very special evening celebrating our seniors and their families. Senior families please arrive by 5:45 pm and sit in reserved seating. This will be an emotional night for all as we honor 8 seniors this year.
10/17 Practice 3:30-5:30 AVHS Main Gym
10/18 FINAL LEAGUE GAME
*6 pm AWAY GAME—AVHS vs. Foothill High School 4375 Foothill Road, Pleasanton 94588
*Carpool Drivers for this game: Nancy Niu, Judy Malmrose, and Candi Miller. Please meet at at 4:45 in front of the Q building.
*this will be a BIG game of cross town rivalry so it would be great if you could come and support, especially since it won’t be in our house but we are all still wanting the win since this will put us first!
10/19 No practice, rest up for play offs!
Save the Date:
*Banquet 11/15 6-9 pm RSVPS due to Judy Malmrose along with $15 for any additional family besides player and one family member, banquet gift donations due to Candi Miller as well.
*Play offs begin week of October 21-25.

Girls Volleyball Banquet

When and Where: Thursday, November 15 6-9 pm in the MPR. Dinner, dessert, and awards for all teams.

Who: All players and one family member per player (additional charge for extra family members—please give $15 CASH to Judy Malmrose for extra guests), coaches and coach families

What We Need Now:
-RSVP from every player
-see Judy to sign up to help her set up the banquet
-CASH ($15 per extra person) DUE NOW to Judy for extra family members AND CASH DUE NOW ($40) to Candi Miller for banquet gifts for players and coaches. Judy and Candi will be at the tournament this weekend so please give them your amount then but by no later than our home game next Tuesday!

Thank you to all of our baking volunteers! We raised $121 from our bake sale to benefit Tri- Valley Socks! I will deliver our proceeds to them some time next week!

End of Season Banquet update!

Volleyball Banquet November 15 (Thursday) 6pm-9pm

Our banquet committee (Judy Malmrose, Sandra Ernst, and Julie Jackson Garduno) is busy planning our end of season banquet. Details should be coming very soon from these ladies.

All players and one family member per player are included in our current banquet budget. $15 per person will be collected for any additional family members who plan to attend with their player. You do not need to turn in any money for your player and one family member. We have raised money through summer camp and other fundraisers to fund attendance at our banquet for these people.

Once our banquet committee sends out their communication about RSVPS and additional family member money collection, please respond quickly so that we have our head count before the end of league play next week.

Additionally, gifts coordinators from each team are busy working on plans to collect money for player banquet gifts (each player receives a gift bag at the banquet) and coach gifts. Please stay tuned for more information about these items.

Three more games left in league play! Let’s make these last three really count!

10/8 Practice 4:00-5:30 CORE VOLLEYBALL CLUB (AV gyms are not available on Monday. Please be aware of location change. Players will also receive their DIG PINK gear at this practice!!)
10/9 6 pm HOME GAME—AVHS vs. Dublin High School AVHS Main Gym
*DIG PINK NIGHT!!!! Girls will be decked out in pink and we will hold a DIG PINK bake sale with proceeds benefitting Tri-Valley Socks. Please check the sign up on the Girls Volleyball main page to make sure you are set to bring your donated goodies! We will also have a donation jar for those interested in donating to the cause.
10/10 Practice 3:30-5:30 AVHS Main Gym
10/11 6 pm HOME GAME—AVHS vs. Monte Vista High School AVHS Main Gym
*please come out and support for this game! If you recall, the last match at Monte Vista was quite rowdy on their part. We need to show them we are just as spirited in our house!
10/12 No practice. Rest up and be ready for the Stockton Classic Tourney. Amador will face off against some BIG TEAMS!
10/13 Stockton Classic Tournament Delta College 5151 Pacific Avenue. Stockton, Ca 95207 (Easiest way to gym is to enter off of Pershing Avenue on the West entrance of Delta. Gyms near softball and football area)
*arrive at 9 am, gyms open at 9:15, coaches meeting at 9:30, and play begins at 10 am. Please plan to be there all day until at least 5 pm or longer
*sign up to bring food as we have many available spots left
*spectator fee is $8 for adults and $5 for kids
*bleachers available in the gyms and parent chairs allowed but must use a towel or blanket under chairs
Teams at this tournament site include: Amador, Archbishop Mitty, Bishop O’ Dowd, Carlmont, Christian Brothers, Cosumne Oaks, Exeter, Granite Bay, James Logan, Marin Catholic, Notre Dame Belmont, Oak Ridge, Pitman, Pleasant Grove, Rocklin, and St Francis (Sacramento)
