AV Girls Water Polo - Varsity

Please read the following information in its entirety regarding the tournament tomorrow in Santa Cruz. Please note there are two pool locations. Also, please make sure to look at the 16U GIRLS games colored in purple. I have attached the schedule below.

Tournament Rules:

All games are 6 min in all divisions.
2 minute breaks between quarters, half and one 30 sec. time-out per regular game. Two 30 sec time-outs on the Championship game.
We will need to keep on a tight schedule in order to play 50 min games. We expect the cooperation from everyone to keep on this schedule.
All games will be played to a conclusion. If the score is tied at the end of the game, the teams compete in a penalty shootout. In the first round of a penalty shootout 3 players from each team will take one penalty shot, alternating teams. If the score is still tied at the end of the first round, another player shoot alternately until one team scores and the other misses. In the event of a three way tie in a 3 team bracket, the bracket champion will be determined by: · Goal differential followed by · Goals allowed · Goals scored Shootout goals scored after regulation time doesn’t count on tie breakers. If still a tie one or more rounds of a 5 meters shot between the teams to see who is first. The second place finisher will be determined by head to head result among the remaining two teams. Coaches please communicate with each other or site director to figure out your ranked on the bracket and your next/last game. In a 4 team Round Robin bracket division, the top two with the best record will be declared the Champion and the Runner-up. In a 3-4 way tie, the seeding will be determined by the rules above The first team listed shall wear white and start the game to the left of the scorers’ table. It is Ok switch sides every quarter if the sun is a factor and requested prior to the game star.

Please, bring a hard copy roster with Names, USAWP numbers and age to the desk before the games. Make sure your players have their USAWP Cards.
REMINDERS: There is free parking in all sites, but there is an adult $4.00 gate fee. This is a summer fund-raiser for our local High Schools. Thanks for your support! *Championship bracket format with 4, 6 or 8 teams in each bracket! Trophies awards for the top 2 teams in each bracket even if if has only 4 teams. *It is a one-day Tournament for each age group or bracket. All teams guaranteed 3 games, 6 min quarters.

All players don’t have to have the same club affiliation but all players must be USAWP members. Players must have an ID and/or USAWP card. Please remind your coaches to bring a hard copy of the roster to the desk with names and numbers. This is a USAWP event and officiated. Please inform your coaches and players to be prepared to show ID and USAWP card to the officials before each game.

Cabrillo College pool: 6500 Soquel Dr., Aptos
Santa Cruz High pool is on the end of Taylor St. The school address is: 415 Walnut Ave., Santa Cruz.
Aptos High: 100 Mariner Way, Aptos

Few things:

• Please inform all your parents of the following information below.*
  1) There is a $5 gate fee per person.
  2) Each team playing must provide a person to work the table, either running the clock and keeping score sheets.

3) If you are playing at WV remind your parents to bring quarters and dollars to pay for parking. Everyone should park in parking lot 7.

Parking vending machines are by the tennis courts and in parking lot 7.
