Brentwood Saturday

Posted by AVHS Girls Soccer- VARSITY at Dec 16, 2018 9:05AM PST

It was a trip to Brentwood where AV Girls Soccer triumphed on turf! 4-2.
Some slow action beginning the first half, back and forth, and then Brentwood snuck a goal past keeper Bailee Alvarez Walls. Perhaps that’s what Amador needed to get their game face on, because the game then intensified and Amador answered on the kickoff! Kennedy Mayo and Maille Smith made it 2-1 by the half whistle. Brentwood had some speed that Amador defense was able to shutdown, though a rocket ball side-netting scored for the Lions. Responding, Midfielder Sofia Griffen and then Maille Smith hit the net for the Dons in the 2nd half. too. Most scores were beautifully assisted balls provided by AV halfbacks and backs, for a team win against a scrappy Brentwood Lions team.

Cool first Home game

Posted by AVHS Girls Soccer- VARSITY at Dec 13, 2018 9:41PM PST

AV Girls Soccer JV and Varsity took on Dublin High this clear cool
Night for our season opener, Th Dec 13th.. All season long at HOME, JV girls soccer will play at 4, Varsity at 6pm.
Snack Bar will be open, selling AV Wear too! GET YOURS!

With a new season and a new team, Varsity battled it out to a 3-0 WIN. The game was full of physicality from both sides, and the refs let the game play. The team seemed to continue working and several times couldn’t secure the goal that seemed imminent… until sophomore Kennedy Mayo, Junior Allison Jones and Freshman Leah Allari got it done. Dublin had few pushes toward our AV goalkeeper Baille Alvarez Walls , keeping the 0 in the “Visitor” scoreboard steady. The AV team field was populated throughout the game with upperclassmen, as well as Freshman ! Should be an exciting season.

AVHS Soccer Teams,

‘Tis the season for giving… and every year, AVHS Girls Soccer participates in some charitable way as a group. This year, our senior class wishes to throw out some love to the Paradise fire victims.

From that senior class request , we’ve connected with a grassroots organization and a specific Paradise fire victim, fire inspector, and community pastor.
He was thrilled that the seniors from AVHS would think of them and want to reach out to their community.

Because many of the fire victims are now homeless, migratory (in a sense) in offered, single-night stay beds, and generally without anywhere to store items, the general donations of clothing, blankets, and Christmas giving etc. are just not practical. Some did escape in their vehicles- they were the lucky ones, he says…
Can you imagine?!

His suggestion was very basic:
AS odd as it sounds, gift cards in ANY monetary amount, for day-to-day necessities , would be easiest for them to utilize and would be be a great blessing to them.

If this finds you with a soft heart and willing to participate in this AVHS Girls Soccer Program Giving ,
here’s a few suggestions of retailers to purchase:

Target
Applebee’s
Walmart
Gas cards

The 3 ways you can help the Paradise Fire Victims Identified as most needy (those without fire insurance or family near):
